UNINTERRUPTED follows Howard Men's Basketball team, led by Head Coach Kenneth Blakeney, during their day of service at Mamatoto Village, an on-the-ground organization in D.C. that works with Black mothers to combat racism and health disparities. There, they join the staff to serve Black mothers facing maternal health issues, lending their hand stocking diapers, sorting clothes, packing hygiene kits, and more. Plus, Grad Student Jelani Williams and Forward Shy Odom share why this social justice advocacy hits home for them. In D.C., Black women are 4x more likely to die during pregnancy or postpartum.

With the 446th session of Maryland's General Assembly now underway, Howard University's Office of External Affairs hosted a reception to honor those state legislators with ties to the University. Nearly 100 people, including President Ben Vinson III, Ph.D., Cabinet members and student leaders, gathered at the historic Governor Calvert House in downtown Annapolis to celebrate Bison making an impact in Annapolis.
"Maryland is in more than capable hands with so many Howard alumni in positions of influence and, as I look out at each of you, I cannot help but to notice that Bison spirit that you display ever so proudly," Vinson said. "I am excited to continue working in partnership with you over the coming months and years."
